Keeping the climate gravy train on the rails

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has recently released its fifth report (AR5) amid claims of even greater certainty that human carbon emissions are driving us towards climate catastrophe. To determine whether the threat of catastrophic anthropogenic global warming (CAGW) is real, we need to study the wide body of climate science which is the role of the IPCC.

In the body of AR5 are the scientific papers which represent the accumulated knowledge of the climate system at this time but most people (particularly politicians and journalists) don't have the time, expertise or inclination to digest all the papers for themselves, so they rely on the Summary for Policy Makers (SPM).

The SPM is a crucial document(s) which acts as the transmission mechanism to turn dense academic papers on climate science and impacts into government policies. It is also relied on

21st century carbon caper

The release of emails and documents from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia onto the web gave rise to Climategate. The documents and emails exposed the fraudulent activity of a coterie of paleoclimate scientists, showing how they tortured data to create the notorious hockey stick graph used to promote the myth of man-made global warming. They subverted the scientific method, the peer review process and bullied scientific journals to suppress evidence contradicting their assertions.

It is a against this background and as a result of months of study of climate science that a presentation to the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment demonstrated the parallels between sub-prime mortgage backed securities and carbon trading which amounted to $140 billion in 2008.

Slides for the presentation are available here together with an article covering most of what's in the presentation

Evidence CO2 does not cause dangerous Global warming

David Evans, who produced the Missing Signature paper, demolishes the atmospheric CO2 causes catastrophic global warming case in two minutes.

What consensus?

It is often claimed that the science of man-made global warming or climate change is settled and there is a consensus to which 97% of (or 4,000) climate scientists subscribe. Yet there is no evidence for this claimed consensus

John McLean analysed IPCC AR4 (the fourth IPCC report published in 2007) papers to determine how many scientists and authors explicitly supported the AGW theory. He found only 60 authors and reviewers could be regarded as explicitly supporting the claims about a significant human effect on climate.

Furthermore, 166 climate scientists issued a challenge to Ban Ki Moon on the eve of the Copenhagen Climate Summit in 2009 to provide proof of human induced global warming, saying
